This custom made child gate is now protecting kids from falling down the freshly painted stairs. Opened it tilts nicely under the handrail.
This is a first design of a ring box made of wood and glass. It is made of two parts which are held together with tiny but strong neodymium magnets. Except for the wooden board on the bottom, top and bottom are identical. In order to hold the ring in place a pad with a slit is fit to the bottom.
The idea for this box I got while browsing jewelry stores. I was surprised to see in which kind of container fairly expensive jewelry is sold in. At least here in Finland the usual box of choice is an acrylic container. Why not keeping your beautifully handcrafted pieces in a representative box of natural materials?
The original idea to build a wooden case for engineers’ scales is not from me. Many years ago a fellow student came up with it. However, he never build any so I have been developing the idea over many years and have build several different prototypes. Now almost everything is ready for production.
